The 1st place team wins $200.00 2nd place gets there entery fee payed for for the next tournament. We are paying for all the beer in the tournament. There will be other give aways. So if you think you got skills come on down and "GET YOUR BALLS WET".
Rules and Regulations: The entry fee will cover the beers used for the tourney and this is a single elimination tournament.
Cups are arranged, 10 on a side, in pyramid formation.
The officials will distribute one pitcher of beer evenly between both sides.
To start the game each team will start with one ball and look at the opposing player eye to eye and both players will throw the ball not looking at the cups. The team that makes the first ball decides who goes first. If after four tries of eye to eye no balls are made the teams will rock paper scissors to see who goes first.
Once a starting team has been established each player gets one ball to throw across the table, trying to get the ball in a cup. When a ball lands in a cup, one player from that side must chug that cup, and it is removed from the play area. When both players on a team sink a cup, they get the balls back.
Distractions are legal as long as no part of your body or clothing is over the table when the opposing team is shooting. So step back and make a fool of yourself all you want.
Drinking is alternated. One player drinks the first cup, the other drinks the second, the first player drinks the third, and so on. Throwing is up to the team as long as each team member throws per turn.
As soon as the ball touches anything, including a cup, it's fair game to be grabbed. Bouncing a ball off the table and it goes in a cup it counts for two cups. If a ball bounces off anything other then the table (i.e. a person) and goes in it counts but only one cup.
Leaning will be permitted, with the following considerations:
A player may not place a hand/foot/leg/whatever on the table in order to gain additional reach and/or leverage.
Players may not edge themselves around the table when they throw.
Under no circumstances may a player shoot with any part of his or her body on (against is permitted) the table. Of course, if you have a beer gut that must rest on the table because there's nothing else you can do with it; the "beer gut on the table" exception will apply.
Players may not move cups out of position in order to gain a leaning advantage. If the cups move as a result of contact with the body while shooting, the cups must be returned to their original spot before the opposing team shoots. Any cup knocked over as the result of excessive leaning will count as a hit shot.
When a team makes both balls in the same cup 3 cups are removed (the one that was made and any other two of the defending team's choice) and the balls are returned. Because of this rule the cups and balls must not be removed until the shooting team has finished shooting.
Cups are reracked into pyramids only when 6 cups and 3 cups remain on a side. No reracks allowed in a balls back situation and if during your turn you pass the 6 or 3 cups remaining on your side you miss that rerack. i.e. 7 cups remain both players make a cup they go to 5 and don't get a rerack.
When one cup remains, it is placed in the center within one inch of the back of the table.
When the last cup on a side is hit, the losing team has the opportunity to rebuttal, getting one or two balls to shoot depending on whether or not the winning team used both shots. In this situation you shoot until you miss. If the losing team manages to clear all of the winning team's cups while in a rebuttal, both teams resume the game with three cups but at this point for the tournament we will be using water.
Any cups left on the side of the winning team must be consumed by the losing team.
If a player, for any reason whatsoever, drops a ball into a cup on his own side, he must drink it. Additionally, his teammate has the right to smack him on the head for being such a dumbass. There can be no exceptions to this rule.
If the ball is still spinning in the cup, you may only blow it out (no fingering due to too much spilt beer). If the ball gets wet, though, then it is declared in the cup. In the instance of a dispute it will be up to the official to make the call and if the official did not see the play in question the thrower will have the option of a coin flip or a chance to throw again.
If at any time a player nocks over a cup that cup is removed.
As said before once the ball hits anything it is fair game and may be swatted away, but keep in mined that if you swat the ball before it hits anything you will be penalized one cup and the ball will be returned to the thrower.
If for any reason you leave and are not around when your team is up for a game you will be forfeited from the tournament. Also if you take your self out of the game your team will be forfeited, there are no substituting players, the two that started the tournament must be the two that finish.
